How to get a new EPC

A valid residential EPC can only be produced and lodged on the official government register by an accredited Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA). Homebuyer Report shows certificates that are already on the register; we do not carry out the site visit or lodge a new certificate ourselves.

Typical steps

1. Find an accredited assessor (or ask your agent / conveyancer for a recommendation).
2. Book a visit — usually 30–60 minutes for a typical house or flat.
3. The assessor lodges the certificate on the official register; you receive the PDF and it becomes searchable on GOV.UK.
